A comprehensive examination will assess your overall oral health, including teeth and gum condition, as well as the alignment of your bite, which is vital for the success of the implant.

2What does the implant procedure involve?

We offer two types of implant protocols approved by the American Dental Association (ADA): Classic Two-Stage Protocol: This traditional approach involves several steps spread over 4 to 9 months. Initially, the implant is placed in your jawbone under local anesthesia, with optional IV sedation. After several months, during which the bone integrates with the implant, a minor procedure might be required to attach the prosthetic tooth. One-Stage Immediate Loading Protocol: This modern technique involves fewer visits to the dentist. The implant and the prosthetic tooth are placed in a single session, allowing for a quicker restoration of your smile. This method is suitable for almost all cases, from full mouth rehabilitations to single tooth replacements.

While dental implants generally have high success rates, they do not succeed 100% of the time. Factors such as improper integration or significant bone loss around the implant may necessitate additional treatments or even removal of the implant. We have successfully placed implants in patients well into their 70s and 80s, who often have more need for implants due to natural tooth loss over time. The most important factor is overall health and the absence of conditions that might complicate the surgery or recovery.
